History
In the 1st Semester of SY 1967-1968, the Mindanao State University opened the MSU Extension Division in the former Lanao Technical School at Tibanga, Iligan City and initially offered the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Accounting. On July 12, 1968, the Iligan Institute of Technology was founded under R.A. No. 5363 and it absorbed the function of the former Lanao Technical School. On April 15, 1971, Iligan Institute of Technology produced its first batch of graduates of BSBA Major in Accounting.
In S.Y., 1974-1975, IIT saw the formal operation of academic programs, one of which was department of Management Technology now currently known as the College of Business Administration. The following are important dates in the History of the College of Business Administration.

| January 1, 1984 | Implementation of the new re-organizational set-up of MSU-IIT, which created seven (7) academic units including the College of Business Administration and its two divisions: Undergraduate and Graduate Divisions |
| October 31, 1984 | Revision of the Diploma in Secretarial Science to Bachelor of Science in Office Management (BSOM) |
| Academic Year 1990-91 | Revision of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Accounting to Bachelor of Science in Accountancy |
| Academic Year 1996-97 | Opening of new courses; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Information System and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology replacing the Bachelor Science in Office Management |
| Academic Year 1999-2000 | Implementation of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Entrepreneurial Marketing (Revised Curriculum of BSBA Marketing). Implementation of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy 5-Year Ladderized Program in which after 3rd year an accounting student may apply for a diploma in Associate Accounting Technology, then on the 4th year, a Bachelor in Accounting Technology must be applied, finally on the 5th year, a Degree for Bachelor of Science in Accountancy |
