If you know how to sing, joining the MSU-IIT Octava Choral Society
is not that hard at all!
There are only three criteria that we, in the group, look for in an auditionee:
- Pleasing to the eyes
- Pleasing to the ears
- Pleasing personality (good moral character)
You’ll just have to follow this procedure:
- Get an application letter from the Octava Office beside Room 309, 3rd floor. CASS Complex
- Fill out the form.
- Submit the filled out form to the Octava Office and prepare for an audition piece (any song from different genres will do) anytime of the day during weekdays and saturdays.
- You will be advised when you will be auditioned (usually afternoon of Wednesdays and Saturdays).
When you get through the auditions, you will undergo a vocal workshop that is developed to enhance your singing, which will be handled by Prof. Frank A. Englis, the Executive Director/Conductor, and this is to transpire for about 1 semester. After one semester, if you get through the evaluation to becoming a regular member, you will enjoy a few of the benefits a regular member in the Octava enjoys:
- Free tuition fee
- Montly stipend
- Plus a chance to perform on several concerts and engagements!
